Referral sent to a friend marks as inelegible

Referral sent to a friend marks as inelegible

Hi

I sent a request to a friend for them to install Dropbox. They followed all the process steps and were awarded 259mb. On my account against their referral email, it is marked as ineligible.

This does not make any sense, they set up the account on a different computer. So why is this marked as ineligible? Can someone please look into this for.

My email is <<removed to avoid spam>>

Regards, Tahir

Hey again @tnaeem786, apologies for the delay on my end!

Can you let me know what space usage you see from your Plan page here? You'll be able to see how much space you're using and what your account's limit is.

This should give you a good idea of how much data needs to be removed in order to be under the space limit.

I made an invite and the system and described as Ineligible.
The invite sent to [personal information removed due to the Community's Guidelinesfrom my dropbox account [personal information removed due to the Community's Guidelines].
Please give me the space that I earned.

Hey @jkane, thanks for checking in with us - I moved your post to this thread, where other users have expressed a similar concern.

As Rich and Daphne have also mentioned, if your referral is marked as ineligible, it could be due to the other user already having a Dropbox account under the email address you referred, or that they are using the same network or device that you're connected to.

You can have a look at the thread for some additional ideas on why this could have happened, and if you have any other questions, just give us a nudge. Cheers!

You can see the referral status at www.dropbox.com/referral_status

Note you can only get referral space IF you sent him a link before he signed up.

Please read my posts again. Dropbox doesn't have official support?

Your technical support options depend on what kind of account you have and to see yours, log in and go to dropbox.com/support

If you're still having trouble with this, you can try to submit a Help Request via this link from an incognito window (without signing in).

Still I can't find any mail at help center.
Chatbot is useless service.
Please give me an email address to contact with dropbox support.

How do ask Dropbox to confirm it? It is a true referral.

Thanks.
