Unauthorized Charge on My Credit Card

Unauthorized Charge on My Credit Card

Hi Dropbox Community,

I recently noticed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and I’m seeking advice on how to handle this situation. On 03/07/24, I was charged ₪18.57 by Dropbox. However, I do not have a subscription with Dropbox and did not authorize this charge.

Here are the details of the charge:

• Amount: ₪18.57
• Date: 03/07/24
• Payment method: ****6031

I am concerned about how my credit card information was obtained and used for this transaction. I would like to understand how this happened and what steps I need to take to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

I have already tried to contact Dropbox support but have not been able to reach them directly. Therefore, I am turning to the community for help and advice. Any shared experiences or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Maor

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

Dropbox cannot charge you if they don't have your billing information. If you've been charged and didn't give them your billing information, then someone else has and you should be contacting your bank.

I was charged for a annual plus plan today. I have 2mb of files in that drop box account, why would I need a plus plan that provides 2TB?

The issue is that this unexpected charge has dropped my account below the amount I need to pay my first installment for property tax for this year.

I'd like an answer as to why this charge was applied to an account that obviously didn't need it.

The financial repercussions on my side will be significant if the refund that i applied for is not applied today.

Dropbox cannot charge you unless you gave them you card information. Therefore if you DID give them your card information you needed to have made sure that you cancelled within the timescales. Refunds are only issued where legally required: https://help.dropbox.com/plans/refund

If you did NOT give Dropbox your info you need to contact your card info you need to then contact your card provider regarding fraud.
