I upgraded the wrong account when trying to get more space to recover files

I upgraded the wrong account when trying to get more space to recover files

I have two Dropbox accounts, one is for local and the other is for a Pioneer Rekordbox account which has a lot of files.

First, I mistakenly deleted all the files on the Rekordbox account and need to retrieve them.

That account email is [Removed as per Community Guidelines]

I have been painstakingly restoring the files manually which is taking me hours upon hours to do, then I find there is a way to retrieve.

While I'm in the middle of retrieveing these files I kept getting messages that my Dropbox is full and I finally upgraded but I upgraded the WRONG account.

that account is [Removed as per Community Guidelines]. which is a smaller account and no way near it's capacity

I just figured out as I logged in to the dagwaremedia account I still have the message to upgrade. Can I switch the upgrade to this account and THEN try to recover my files?

Distraction is a killer, I went to delete doubles of music files that were cluttering my computer and I mistakenly deleted mostly all the files that were on my Dropbox account not my physical computer. For the last 5 days I'm painstakingly re populating   all the music files I deleted ( I use Rekordbox that syncs with Dropbox) I'm just taking a break as I have least 10 hours doing this so far. Is there a way to retrieve deleted files from my dropbox account instead of doing it this way?

AND

How can I store files on the dropbox servers and at the same time store locally, as I see only a MOVE command not a copy.

??

In terms of restore have you looked at https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore ?

Regarding the copy / move thing that's controlled by the OS and it is usually move because Dropbox is just a folder like any other on your computer. So, it defaults to whatever the computer is set to do. There isn't a way to change this for Dropbox

so I would have to copy all files loaded on dropbox and save locally just in case , I got that. BUT can I retrieve erased files from my dropbox account?

Dont forget Dropbox is locally (at least if you have set the files available offline) - it is a folder like every other.

And you can erase deleted files, yes, with the link I already gave.

Hi @ralphiedee, thanks for contacting us.

Currently, it isn't possible to switch a paid upgrade to another Dropbox account, as the payment is associated with a specific account.

If you wish, you can try to claim a refund on the paid account, while logged into that paid account, and contacting the support team directly for assistance.

Keep me updated with any progress.

o worries i'll keep the paid account where it is and just upgrade the one I need more room on, I logged into that account and dont see the files I'm looking for, should I upgrade ad then go thru deleted files instructions?

That's correct, however, it might be easier to simply use Dropbox Rewind on the account, which is available after you upgrade, so you can rollback entire folders if need be.

Since I'm 75% of the way thru finding the original files manually manually I will use Dropbox Rewind if this happens again.

thx
