Disabling auto annual renewal

Disabling auto annual renewal

Helllo,

I would like to purchase 1 year plus plan but don't want it to be automatically renewed yearly.

If I purchase the plus plan, and cancel the automatic renewal - would that disable my current use for the 1 year I've already paid?

Please advise how I can cancel the automatic renewal only but still use 1 year.

Thanks!

Hi @bambiji1, I'd be happy to answer that for you!

If you purchase the plan of your choice, you can cancel it immediately after.

That won't take effect immediately, it'll only cancel the renewal, and allow you to use your plan until then.

I hope this clarifies.

The answer should be:

1. Go here to turn off auto-renew

2. The end

This is unethical behaviour for all of these platforms. You all hide the auto renew off and suddenly we get billed. Shame, as I like Dropbox, but am now seeking an alternative.

Hey @Brunt, sorry to jump in here, but you should be able to cancel your Dropbox subscription's renewal as outlined here.

To be specific, navigate to your account's plan tab and scroll down the page till you find the Cancel plan option.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

That shows me how to cancel a plan.

You should have an option to turn off "auto renew".

That is my complaint.

I just had this with another service, they auto renewed, and I asked to cancel and they did not refund me. I don't use that service and now have a year long nothing from them.

When you cancel your subscription your account doesn't get immediately downgraded to the Basic plan, but at the end of your current billing cycle @Brunt

I hope this clears things up and thank you for the feedback on this too.

Let me know if you have anything else to add or ask.

Thanks, that's a relief at least. Unlike GoPro, which just charges you for a year and says "look at our ToS".
