For the past month, I cannot use my Dropbox Paper account in my Chrome Browser on my PC running Windows 11. Anytime I open Paper in Chrome, it immediately crashes Chrome and freezes the whole browser. (Says "not responding" in the top bar). It takes 10-30 minutes to stop on its own to then allow me to close the Paper tab (once the tab is closed all other tabs work as normal), otherwise I need to end task Chrome, close it down and reopen it.
It doesn't happen in the browsers Edge or Firefox - works perfectly there.
I have cleared cache, deleted cookies, cleared history, etc. that does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated, I use DB Paper a lot for work.
Hey @irstm, it seems like I missed your message, my apologies!
So, after some investigation, it would seem that Chrome users (mostly) on Windows may experience an issue with crashes or lagging in Paper.
Our engineers are aware and are working with the Chromium browser developers towards a solution.
In the meantime, you can untick all of the options in chrome://accessibility (chrome://accessibility/) or use Safari or Firefox.

Hi @thehoarder22, I hope you're doing well!
Have you tried to restore your browser to its default settings and disable any browser plugins? Also, if I were you, I'd try an incognito tab on Chrome, to see if the behavior remains the same.
Can you give this one a go, and let me know? Thanks!

I am having the same issue and my browser will freeze even in incognito mode.
Disabled extensions & tried in incognito. Still happening.
@irstm, are you having this issue on your Chrome browser, as well? Have you also checked your browser for any possible plugins and updates?
@thehoarder22, can you also check whether there are any pending updates on your Chrome browser that need to be installed?

@Nancy
Yes, I was using the most up to date chrome browser and it crashes even in incognito mode (with all plugins shut off). When I use Microsoft Edge, the website functions without an issue.
No pending updates. Exactly the same as @irstm, works perfectly on Microsoft Edge.
I am having exactly the same problem. Drobox Paper has become completely unusable in the Chrome. My Chrome is fully up-to-date. Whatever the bug, it completely cripples the browser. Even DEV tools becomes crippled and the the ability to switch to or use other tabs. Takes over 45s to load a document, then any time you click in the document you get a repeat crippling of at least 45 seconds.
Hey everyone, thanks for reporting this to us.
Can we send you an email, so we can look into this internally?
