Backup new PC - I have already transferred all my files to my new HDD

Backup new PC - I have already transferred all my files to my new HDD

I had an old Win 10 PC with Dropbox Backup Enabled. That old PC no longer exists.
I have a new Win 10 PC that I have manually transferred all my files to.
I have not yet installed the Dropbox App on the new computer.
My online dropbox still shows the backup files from the old computer.
I have penty of free storage, only 25% used of 2TB.

I now want to backup my new PC. How Should I proiceed?
If I install Dropbox App on the new PC will it immediately try to sych with the old Backup?
Or will it begin a completely new backup of the new machine?
Assistance appreciated.

Hi @Bell500, thanks for messaging the Community!

The Dropbox desktop application would detect the machine as a new device.

If you choose to set up Dropbox Backup, a new backup would be created, instead of linking it to the old backup.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
