Allow a personal account to have more than 3 TB

Allow a personal account to have more than 3 TB

Hello,

I'm a graphic designer with over 15 years of workload. This obviously equates to extreme files sizes. I was disappointed to learn Dropbox don't offer a package for single users over 3TB. I work solely and require more cloud space and don't want to have to upgrade to a 'per user' plan as this isn't cost effective. This option has to become available soon.

Yeah, the low limit is absolutely ridiculous. I'd happily pay the increased business price for more storage (5TB+), but I don't need/want multiple users, signature options, etc. I just need the extra backup storage. I tried the business plan, but it was such a nightmare to use, and it ended up screwing up my previous personal account, for which I'd already been paying paying $10+/month for many years. I own a business, but don't want everyone to have access to everything, so my employees obviously don't need the same amount of storage space as me (as the curator). I have 65TB of storage on my home theater PC/server, but I want to be able to backup my 15 home security cameras in real-time, important files, etc. without prioritizing what's more important out of all of it. I have several battery backups at home, but they have a time limit, so it's not a great option in the event of a fire, etc. I'm 48-years-old and have accumulated a lot of important pictures, music, work files, etc. over the years, and I'm very happy to pay a lot more to backup/protect them somewhere while being able to access them from my phone and PC in real time. Why Dropbox doesn't offer the option to take more money from a long-term customer for just more of the same service is just stupid and short-sighted.

Curious Dropbox, just how many pages of comments asking for a feature does it take before you actually decide one is going to be implemented?

And if you never plan to implement the feature, how about just saying so and closing the discussion as "Will Not Change" so we know where the company stands?

Just jumping on top of the pile here. I was "forced" to get biz plan only because I keep all my assets in dropbox for 3d work, materials, textures, etc.

It's a very simple request, just allow me to pay for additional storage on a personal account, without limit. You get paid, I get more space, everyone wins. 🙂

Thanks.

Hi it's 2024 and I still no upgrade on the pricing page this is getting ridiculous WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO ALLOW ME TO PAY MORE FOR MORE THAN 3TB OF PRO STORAGE DROPBOX????? I NEED AT LEAST 6TB (PROBABLY EVEN MORE SINCE MY MACBOOK M3 RUNS ON 8TB INTERNAL SSD) I DON'T NEED 3TB ANYMORE THIS WAS BACK IN 2010 WE NEED MORE SPACE IN 2024 AND I DON'T NEED YOUR 3-USER ENTERPRISE PLANS EITHER SO JUST GIVE ME 6-8TB ON PRO PLAN THANKS

I have a two person  business that ran out of room with our Onedrive at 2.6TB which cannot be upgraded... So we are looking to Dropbox but it has the SAME PROBLEM stuck at 3TB! No scalable storage options.  Listen to your customers and other cloud storage customers looking for greener pastures. We want more flexible storage options! NOT BUSINESS PLANS with bloatware and unnecessary features. YOU ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS!

Yep. Also a sole-trading graphic designer with the same comments. Photoshop is so greedy for disk space these days that it is easy to add several GB a week all by itself.

We should be able to just buy more Dropbox space like I'd buy more hard drives. The whole point of using cloud storage is to make this all someone else's problem. If I still need to worry about space constraints, then what's the point?

Hello Dropbox

Now over 11 pages of requests to this suggestion. How much more do you need? If you are not ever going to do this, can you just say so then we can all move on?  Be nice to understand why you don’t want to consider this as well. Thank you.

I am exact the same. We need more TB as we grow!

If we can buy extra TB would be an option. From real use and experience I need at most 5TB.

It’s basically the amount of TB we need is to match our Mac hard drive so we can back up completely. 4TB. 5TB would allow for extra odd bits of random files and transfers and personal photos maybe.
