What was the solution to this issue?

The solution from Dropbox's end was essentially "we can see the Documents folder syncing on our end, so it should be fine", even though I still can't add the folder to my backups (see photo below). But I am able to access everything from the web and do rewinds from there, so it does seem like it is syncing and backing up.
I just wish that I could add it to my backups in this UI, so I have a little reassurance; I'm kind of afraid to make any changes though because I don't want to risk losing my files.

This issue has come up again due to Dropbox Storage and Dropbox Backup being different services. My entire Documents folder is now in Backup, I'm unable to share any files in it, and it's very unclear how to resolve the issue.
My entire Documents folder being in Backup is a big problem because I run my own business and often share folders and files with collaborators. The folder is still hidden in Finder, as depicted in the first post of this thread, which makes it harder to understand how to move it out of Backup.
I would appreciate a solution for this Walter, or any other dropboxers, if there is one.

It's true that there was a recent change asakul - you can read all about it here.
In essence, our Dropbox Backup product is designed to protect the content of your device, so we prevent sharing in order that you don’t accidentally give access to your sensitive content.
To collaborate on files or folders from your backed up content, you can copy or move the content you'd like to share into your Dropbox folder and share it from there.
I hope this helps!
