Is there any way to set naming convention to Dropbox Capture?

Is there any way to set naming convention to Dropbox Capture?

Hello All

Is there any way to set the naming convention to Dropbox Capture?

Currently, it has the program and the name also has the time and date, but that makes the name too long.

Is there a way to set the naming to just the date and time?

Here is an example:

Safari - Personal — Files – Dropbox 2024-06-19 at 11.45.41 AM (what it looks like now)

2024-06-19 at 11.45.41 AM (how I wanted to look like)

Thank you in advance

Hey @prawniator, it seems that the "file name" option cannot be removed, even with the naming convention, so apart from the "date captured" that will get added, the file name will remain as well.

I will however, pass your feedback along to our team, so they can take it into consideration for any upcoming changes to the feature.

If you have any questions, let us know!

Hey @prawniator - thanks for using Dropbox and posting on our Community!

You should be able to set your preferred naming convention on the Capture folder via the website as outlined here.

Could you give it a go and let us know if it helps?

Thanks so much!

Hi Walter,

Thank you for getting back to me and sharing the resource.

I've tried the Organise > naming convention, however, it's still the same.

To give you an example, the screenshot I took for the article below is this:
Safari - Personal — How to use naming conventions in Dropbox - Dropbox Help 2024-06-19 at 2.14.59 PM

The date and time are there, but I just want to disable Dropbox to automatically add whatever it is before the date.

The renaming convention doesn't seem to have this function.

Is there any other way?

Thank you!
