Is there a way to display folders as an alphabetical list?
...whether ascending or descending?
---
Hello Dropbox forum members!
New to Dropbox and am stuck with attempting to figure out how to arrange folders where I can look for/find a folder by its alphabetical first letter.
Below is a snippet of how my folders currently look .
Do you know the steps to arrange folders descending or ascending alphabetically?
If there isn't, is there a workaround do you know?
If no workaround, is there a suggestion thread here to add this query for future Dropbox versions?
Thanks
Hey there Learning1234 - happy Monday!
Based on your screenshot I'd say you're using an Android device - correct me if I'm wrong please.
If that's the case, to sort your files on your Android device:
1. Tap on the three dots on the top-right of the screen and select "Sort..."
2. Choose between "A - Z" or "Newest - Oldest" to sort your files. In addition, when it comes to our website, note that you can sort files via two options, 'Order' and 'Show’, by clicking on the column header. ‘Order’ will determine if what is shown is displayed ascending or descending. ‘Show’ will display any of the following in the website’s file browser: name, type, extension, size, modified date, or members.
For more information, you can see the following help article:
Depending on your devices' operating system(s), there might be some additional sorting options on the Dropbox desktop application such as tags, date created, date added etc.
I hope this information helps and please let me know if you have any more questions; I'll be happy to follow up.

Snippet screencapture was taken once I'd logged into dashboard using PC.~ when it comes to our website, note that you can sort files via two options, 'Order' and 'Show’, by clicking on the column header.

Hi. I was wondering how to go about getting my files show up alphabetically? The only way they show up is in order of download, first downloaded at the bottom
- MeganDropbox StaffHi stevied234, thanks for posting to our Community!
As a first step, do you mind clarifying which platform you're using?
If I were you, I'd also check Walter's reply right here.
Let me know if you have any questions.
