Hello, I'm a Dropbox Plus customer and all documents (primarily receipts) I scan with the Dropbox Scanner as a PDF are saved but not searchable.

Very frustrating as this would be such a great benefit to have.

Hi @Tim A, and thanks for posting on our forum!

Can you let me know what you’re searching for exactly, so that we can look into this? For example, are you unable to locate your receipts based on their filename or are you searching for a specific word within the file and no result returns?

In case you’re trying to use full-text search for your receipts, please take the time to check this Help Center article as well, since it contains more details on what’s supported and what’s not.

Keep me posted for more updates.

I am having the same problem.  I have deleted the app on my iphone, and reinstalled but it is still not searchable.  These are receipts scanned as PDFs.  I am looking for ANY searchable text.  I can't find anything.

Hi @AFF, let's jump right into this!

Can you let me know your phone's OS, and the version of the Dropbox app that you're using on your end?

Also, could you send me a few screenshots, in order for me to have visual too?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Megan. It’s OS 16.2
I don’t know how to see the version of DB that I’m Using, except to say that I deleted the app a couple days ago and re-downloaded it from the App Store so it must be the latest version.

How do I post screen shots or where do I send them?

Hi @AFF, just for clarification, were you previously using the Dropbox mobile app to scan files, or the Dropbox Scan app, which is no longer available?

It's so frustrating and Dropbox Support are clueless. Google Drive has a much better handle on OCR documents. It's time to switch.

Thanks. I’ll look at that

They have confirmed you have to pay the full amount of £20 to search for words on your own documents having scanned them in using their app.  NOT IMPRESSED !!!!! time to move on
