"You seem to be having internet issues" error preventing upload even w/o Internet issues present

Trying to use Dropbox for the first time, a relative set up an account w/ 2TB of storage so we could share old home movies. I'm trying to upload one that's like 7GB and almost two hours, understandably the upload time it gives me is sizable which is fine, but four times now the upload has stalled with a message of "You seem to be having internet issues. Hang tight and we’ll resume your upload once you reconnect." despite not actually having any Internet issues as every other site is cooperating fine, and even if I leave the tab open for a while there's no further progress on the upload. Have never had this issue with large uploads to Google Drive or YouTube, etc. Tried signing out and in as well. Any particular fix for this beyond just using a different service besides Dropbox instead? Thanks!

I started to have the same issues recently as well after using dropbox for a few years without issue - checked and it is not internet issue. I can only upload video that are less than 6-7 minutes long that takes less than 15 seconds to upload under very high speed 5G internet - it seems to be a recent issue but without any solutions in sight...

Hey @Joannewong121, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Have you cleared your browser's cache or tried another browser since you first noticed this?

If you did and this persists, you could also try rebooting your computer and internet router as well.

In any case, please keep us posted, Joanne.

Hi Hannah

Apologies for the delay. As stated previously, there is no issue on the Windows platform, iit works fine.

Its just lately on Android that this issue now occurs. The dropbox app does not work on my device as i suspect that the version of Android is ttoo old and an upgrade  is not possible.

Best regards

Ced

Hi there @blueice, sorry to jump in, but I just wanted to mention that you can find our minimum requirement for Android devices here.

I hope this helps a tad, Ced.

Same problem here, it's happening to me on Win 7 Ultimate and Win 8.1 machines. I tried Firefox, Chrome, and Edge Browsers. no issues uploading files before on these same machines. The problem seems to be that the memory usage in the browsers slowly jumps to over 2GB in usage during the upload. Once it hits 2.2GB you get the message "there seems to be a  problem with your connection" yadda, upload will resume once connection is restored.

NO, the Dropbox Desktop app is NOT an option for me. NO, I will not use it.

Web uploading was fine before. This needs to be fixed.

What's up Dropbox?

This is Firefox uploading a 4GB video file. 7.3GB is memory usage. Google Chrome is uploading files as well to Dropbox. 1.7GB of usage. This is on a machine with 64GB of RAM so it can handle it. Win11. This is way too much memory usage for file uploading. Something is wrong with your coding.

Hey @dantol86, sorry to hear you're still having issues with this.

Could you please clear your browser's cache or try an incognito window with no plugins or extensions running and let us know if you notice any difference?

Have you also tried rebooting your internet router and computer(s) since you first noticed this?
