Hey @Chuckles333, welcome to our Community and happy Monday!

Can you please clarify what devices are you using and if you have the Dropbox apps installed there?

Are you using the Excel app directly to edit your files or are you using the online integration with Dropbox?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

I am using the Excel App to change files.

Hi @Chuckles333, in order to assist further, we need to understand how and where you're using Excel.

Is this via the Dropbox site using Excel Online, the mobile app, or the Excel desktop app? Likewise, how are you opening Dropbox files?

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Do you have the Dropbox desktop application installed, and are the Excel files located i that folder when you edit them?

Yes I have Dropbox desktop app installed. There are Excel files installed in the Dropbox, but they do not update after I change the files on the desktop version of Excel.

When I edit Excel I do in on the desktop version of Excel

The Excel files on Dropbox do not update automatically.

Hi @Chuckles333, can you let me know our app's syncing status while we speak?

Thank you for getting back to me. I am on the older side of life. And not completely computer savvy.

Can you send me screenshots of where I should be checking to see if the system is syncing.

A point of interest. When I change my Excel file, I do it on the desktop Excel and not on the Dropbox Excel.

Hey @Chuckles333, sorry to jump in here.

To see the syncing status that Megan asked you to check, you'll need to hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar with your mouse.

As for the file you're updating, truth is that only if you update the file that's inside the Dropbox folder, will the file get updated in Dropbox.

If you're updating a copy of the file somewhere outside the Dropbox folder, the file in Dropbox won't be updated.

I hope that clarifies things!
