My dropbox shows Couldn't sync files. Due to usage of banned symbols. I cannot open the files to rename them.

Hi there @DrTAS - sorry to hear about your syncing issue.

You should be able to locate those files and rename them normally on the website or even locally on your device in your Dropbox folder after you quit the desktop app on your computer.

Let us know of any updates!
