Syncing icons on the files in the Dropbox folder have changed

Syncing icons on the files in the Dropbox folder have changed

Hello
The Finder Extension Icons indicating whether a file or folder is Online Only or Available Offline are showing up in my Finder, however, the statuses are incorrect. For instance a folder that contains files that are both Online Only files and Available Offline files is showing a cloud icon, when it should be showing a white circle with a green checkmark and green outline. I think the Finder Extension is confused. Is there a way to reset the Finder Extension so the icons show correctly without changing the Online Only or Available Offline settings that I have for my files/folders? I do not want to change the statuses of my files/folders, I just want the icons to indicate the statuses correctly. Thank you.

Does anyone know if GoogleDrive or Onebox (or one of the upstart companies) has an icon system like what Dropbox used to have?

I'm going to suggest to my boss that we move to another cloud service. The remote interns are wasting too much time with the now-meaningless "cloud" icon which now can secretly hide massive downloaded files.

Even if Googledrive or onedrive or the others don't have as good of an icon system as Dropbox USED to have, their customer service can't be any worse!

Just got a great (insert eyeroll) from support: If it is of any help at all, even for the time being, if you know that a folder contains both online-only and local files, you could rename the folder to something like: [Actual name of the folder] (mixed).

Apparently nobody in support actually uses Dropbox in the real world.

Indeed @cindy t.3 that temporary "solution" from the support doesn't deserve any comment/consideration.

This is a very serious problem with the latest dropbox, and customer service told us to upvote this thread below so that the engineers know that many people find it unacceptable:

About the idea and comment and spread the word, thank you.

They've now made sure I know how to end my subscription to Dropbox. That sounds like they have no intention of giving us us the old icon system back. Very disappointed. This seems like such an easy thing - just go back to what was working before!

Hey I keep trying to up vote this and every time I come back to the thread it says I haven't voted for it?

Hey Guys,

Although I 100% support rollback of this feature I did find a small workflow thing that can help find those unwanted local files now hidden it "online-only" cloud icon folders.

If you right click on a folder on a cloud icon folder and it offers the dropdown menu option to "make online only" there are offline files somewhere in that folder structure. This option will disappear if its actually all online only.

It still sucks but at least if you have deep file structures there is a way to see at a higher level where local files are hiding. Like the previous system did... really well...
