I have folders shared with me that are available online, are checked in selective syncing, but do not appear on my hard drive. They are subfolders of a shared folder owned by others if that matters. Other subfolders are showing correctly. I have reinstalled the Dropbox app and checked and unchecked the folder in selective sync. Why would this happen? It has cost me time in rejected drafts and trying to fix.

Do the folders that don't sync down have special characters (like " * : < > ? / \ |)? If you change those characters, do they sync down?

No difference, each of the folders within the shared folder have the same naming conventions, but only half of them are showing up.

Hey @strutzart, I hope you're doing well!

Would you mind clarifying the app's current syncing status, and version?

If you wish, you can check the app's version by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon located on your task bar, next to your WiFi.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Windows App is version 203.4.4857. It says "Your files are up to date" in the lower left corner. I'm attaching a screenshot of the local file system on the left and the same folder on Dropbox.com. I got there by left clicking the top folder and choosing view on dropbox.com. I can also see the missing folders on my IOS Dropbox app, and I can download items from the website,  they just aren't being added  to my  local Dropbox folder. I have enough local drive space as well. Thanks for looking into it.Dropbox Sync.jpg

Hey @strutzart - do you see any of those folders listed in your selective sync settings in the app's preferences perhaps?

Have you ensured that their names don't contain any incompatible characters as well?
