Re: Mac desktop app failing to sync and continuously quitting/restarting

Mac desktop app failing to sync and continuously quitting/restarting

iMac running Ventura 13.1 and Dropbox v164.4.7914. The desktop app shows an 'x' symbol in the menu bar. When I click on the icon in the menu bar it shows "can't sync" in the status bar at the bottom. It also throws an error saying "Dropbox unexpectedly quit' with Restart and Close buttons. Clicking Restart goes through this same loop.

Files do seem to be syncing to Dropbox though, as I can see them appear in the web viewer when dragging them into the Dropbox folder, and disappearing if I bin them. But this is happening with the Dropbox app closed.

Weird.

Hi @David B.157, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you try reinstalling the app via this link

I'd also recommend enabling full disk access by following these steps.

Keep me updated with any progress!

Hi Jay - I used the link and reinstalled. Looks good so far - the app says 'your files are up to date' and no errors yet...thanks!
