Mac OS Sonoma: how to rename the root folder?

Mac OS Sonoma: how to rename the root folder?

By switching to my new Mac, somehow the name of my root folder has changed from "Dropbox (personal)" to simply "Dropbox". but this is a disaster cause all my links are now busted. Is there any way to change the name of my root folder back to "Dropbox (personal)" ?

Hi there @Equinox64 - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Let me start by clarifying that the Dropbox Folder cannot be renamed at this time.

That said, note that it sounds like you had linked two accounts on your previous computer in the Dropbox desktop app. Have you made sure that you've signed into both of your accounts in the desktop app on the new Mac as well?

Let me know and we'll take it from here.

Hi Walter. So indeed, I logged back into my second professional account as well. I am now logged into BOTH accounts. and my personal account is now renamed "Dropbox (personal)" instead of "Dropbox". so that actually solved the issue!

moving forward though, the none other professional account I used will no longer be in use soon. if I remove that from my Mac, I take it my Dropbox Root folder will be renamed "dropbox" instead of "Dropbox (personal)", correct?
