Re: How to set all RAW files to available offline based on metadata in .XMP created Adobe Lightroom

How to set all RAW files to available offline based on metadata in .XMP created Adobe Lightroom

I keep all my photo archives in dropbox. By default, all photos are stored only in the cloud - that is, online. In the Finder, I can tell Dropbox which folder or file(s) I want to make available offline. But I would like to have offline all RAW image files with a rating of 3 or higher, I assign the ratings in Adobe Lightroom Classic, which stores it in an .XMP file with the same name.

Hey @andreysavin, thanks for reaching out to our Community.

I'm afraid it's not currently possible to tell the Dropbox app to make files with only certain specifications available offline.

You can open the app preferences, go to the "sync" tab and choose if you want new files added, to sync as online-only or offline.

Keep in mind, though, that this will take effect on all new files added.

Otherwise, you can manually make them available offline, the way you've been doing so far.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have an idea how this can be done - write a script or program. But you need to be sure that Dropbox has an API that will allow you to do this. And also that work through the API is available on my subscription plan
