- 8 years agoLet me send over some more details and tips to determine the cause!
- For starters, you may have a look here for some steps to adjust your bandwidth locally.
- Secondly, you could try force quitting all other applications and see if this helps improving your syncing speed.
- Also, let me ask you whether you’re in a work or home environment.
- You could use the link below to check your connection speed through your ISP and local network by using the following link: http://www.speedtest.net/
I’ll be following-up here, so please keep me updated in your reply!

Hi everyone!
As you may know, all of the Dropbox servers are located in the US (and you might live far from those servers).
Moreover, your connection speed to Dropbox depends on the routing you get between your ISP and our servers, and may be slower than your ISP's rated speeds.
Could you try resetting your connection? It might get you a different route and better speeds :) but that is outside of our control :(.
Some ISPs also throttle sustained connections so if you see an initial high connection speed followed by lower speeds, that could be the reason.
You can also configure Dropbox to use all of your network bandwidth, as the default setting includes some throttling in order to keep Dropbox from impeding other network traffic while syncing.
You can read about how to adjust the Dropbox network bandwidth here:
https://help.dropbox.com/syncing-uploads/faster-sync
I hope this helps!

I am confused about the ability to set bandwidth manually. The moderator stated that if you have more bandwidth you can set Dropbox to sync as fast as your bandwidth will allow. I have 300 Mbps fiber up and down and still stuck with 60kbps. I quit

You are right to quit.
They know this problem persists and they refuse to fix it.
You'll get an email by an employee that seems to try to help you but really doesn't do anything but direct you to so called solutions that everybody knows don't help at all.
Dropbox seems set to transform to a pure b2b company rather than help normal human customers who pay €100 a year for a service that just won't work properly. Where I come from we call that THEFT![This thread is now closed. If you have a similar or new question, you could post it in the Find Answers section here. Jane]
