Hi Nancy - I had restarted multiple times prior to posting here. But while I was waiting for a response I scoured the forum and saw the advice to trash the settings via the Terminal and did that, which resolved the issue.
What's weird is that a few months back I'd received a notification that Dropbox needed to move the folder to a different location (something like [username]/library/cloudstorage/Dropbox) and after the settings were reset, Dropbox went back to the original folder location ([username]/Dropbox).
So maybe it was just the weird location (which might be related to backing up my Mac files in addition to the Dropbox folder).
Hi JabbaDaHun, thanks for posting here today.
Did you restart your device in the meantime and the appâs still stuck indexing the exact same number of files?
Other than that, Iâd like you to right-click on your local Dropbox folder, go to âGet infoâ and send me a screenshot of its properties.
Iâd like to make sure the folder doesnât contain more than 300k files in total, as this couldâve caused the syncing issue you started facing originally.
Give me a nudge, when you have more info.
