Dropbox Transfer: "Can't add web-based files"

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right method to report a bug. I'm experiencing a bug with the Dropbox Transfer function of the desktop app (MacOS). I have located a folder that I want to send using the Dropbox Transfer method. So I right-click and select Send a Copy. It opens up the standard Transfer window but I get the error "Can't add web-based files". However, there are no web-based files in my folder package that I wish to send as everything is offline. I do have several folders named "Web" (they contain logo files for web use). But the app thinks the "web" folder is web-based but nothing about them is web-based (i.e. online only) only the name is "web".  Creating the transfer excludes the "web" folders which is undesirable.

I have tried renaming the "web" folders to something that doesn't contain the word "web" and the transfer works without errors. But this is undesirable as I wish to use the name "web". I have used the transfer function via a web browser and it creates the transfer without errors and includes the "web" folders. So there is a bug with the desktop app.

Hope you can help or flag this for developers to fix.

Hi boomfly, how are you today?

Interesting! You mentioned, that the files in that folder are offline. Could you clarify if you meant that they're available offline, or offline-only?

Also, which version of our app do you use on your end?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Just popping in to say I found the same bug. I had a folder called "web" and got the same error message as above, then changed that folder name to "online" and no more error message.

Hi Ellen , I'm glad it's not just me! Renaming the folder also worked for me too. Hopefully Dropbox can fix it so we don't have to rename as a workaround.

      Hi Megan

Thanks for your response. I think I may have confused things by mentioning offline. All files in the folder are available on my local hard drive and they are synced to Dropbox - they are showing a green tick so they are both offline and online. The desktop app version is v164.4.7914. Hope that helps.

    Hi ellen, & boomfly

Could you let me know which version of our app you use on your end?

Also, Ellen, in regards to the error you got on your end, did it also happen when you tried to create a File Transfer using the app?
