Where is the gear icon on my Dropbox desktop app?

Thanks ChristineL , but what wanted to know was how to restore the Gear which no longer exists... I can't remember what options to gear allowed me to do... I realize that if I click on the downward arrow to the right of my photo I have a number of options, one of which is to pause syncing. 
I have two questions:

1. What options did the gear provide? 

2. Would anyone be able to tell me whether or not the gear is required or has it been removed by dropbox?

The gear icon exited in older versions of the Dropbox client. In the newer versions which have a different layout, the gear is replaced by your avatar icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Click it or the downward facing arrow next to it.
