NSIS when uninstalling the app
Dropbox.com will not sync with Dropbox on my PC.
Thought I'd uninstall Dropbox and start again.
When I try and uninstall, I get an NSIS Error message saying"error launching installer"
Any suggestions, help and advice greatly appreciated.
After lots of trial and error I found this work for me.
- Click on Start. Type Run
- Type C:\Users\Gravitino\AppData\Roaming Alternatively locate this folder called Roaming within your AppData folder.
- Inside this folder you would find Dropbox folder. Go into this folder, you would find a bin folder. Find the file called DropboxUninstaller.exe
- Now if you click on this DropboxUninstaller.exe you would get same message as before "error .." Instead Right Click on DropboxUninstaller.exe and click on Run as Administrator.
- This will remove the Dropbox. Now you can make a fresh installation. Good luck!

Answer (for me at least) was to try and install a DropBox update. First attempt, I was refused. Secondattempt, I tried as Administrator (right click desktop icon - Run as Admin). Was refused. Tried again . Successful. Still get NSIS error if I try and uninstall, but DropBox works fine now including appearing in System Tray which it didn't do previously. Essentially, I think I had a corrupted version but I don't think that explains NSIS error.

Followed the steps in Nigel's answer post. Have ended up at the same place, Dropbox is working fine now but the NSIS Error still comes up when trying to uninstall dropbox.

I'm having the same issue. Dropbox wouldn't sync anything and I was getting the NSIS error as well. I tried Nigel's suggestion and it made the trick. Dropbox is working fine now but I can't uninstall it either.
I noticed your posts are 2 months old and it's a shame Dropbox hasn't publish any response...

Hi. Totally agree with your last comment. My problem hasn't been fully resolved as yet. Even though "running as administrator" solves the installation and syncing issue, the problem is that my Dropbox somehow gets uninstalled by itself and I have to reinstall it (as administrator) almost once every couple of days. Ive checked for virus a dozen times but theres nothing. I even deleted the entire dropbox folder once after which allowed me to uninstall Dropbox from Control Panel, then reinstalled (as administrator). Still the same situation persists. Still get the NSIS Error.
Let me know if anyone else is also having to reinstall Dropbox every few days. Reminds me I need to do that right now :D - sabiha a.1New member | Level 1
I was getting the same error with Dropbox and I tried Nigel's way as well and it worked. I even managed to uninstall it by running it as an administrator. That worked as well. It won't reinstall though. The website downloaded two files, the setup and the installer file. Both won't work. It asks to try again later and clears the entire setup.
