Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library error on dropboxupdate.exe, R6030 CRT not initialized
Hi,
I got this error message today, after login into my computer. How can I solve it?
I use Windows 10 LTSC.
Thanks,
Feriman

Hi bkimball90, if they're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could they try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?
Are there any apps that could be affecting the downloaded copy of the file, such as a firewall or security software? Could they try downloading the installer from a different browser entirely?

Same problem here since this morning. I use Windows 11 23H2 22631.3447.
Is there any solution?

I too get this about twice per week for the last 6 weeks. Usually after the PC has been locked and then unlocked. Uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox, rebooted multiple times but still getting the pop up message. Dropbox appears to be functioning correctly but the popup is very annoying. I am running Win11 23H2 (admin account) and have dropbox v192.4.4605. I have a basic account. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Yes to antivirus, but it logs all interactions and has not logged anything to do with this. Also, I have DNS filtering, but again it logs blocking and there is nothing being blocked.
Surely this update application creates logs which would be useful to your team to see what is going on?

Hi jjo5555, welcome to our Community!
So, based on what you described, it sounds like the consistency in which this message shows up, isn't steady, right?
Do you have any security software, like an antivirus, VPN, firewall etc. that could be causing this?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi jjo5555, thanks for letting us know about this.
Our Team is currently checking to see what could be causing that, and if it's Dropbox-related or Windows-related.
In the meantime, would you mind trying the steps mentioned in a relevant Microsoft article that we found here?

Hey everyone,
Our team has checked into this, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to pinpoint the root cause of this error yet.According to Microsoft's documentation, the most common reason for this could be related to antivirus programs interfering with DLL loading. You can see more about this here.
We're keeping an eye on this and will share more info when available. Thanks!
