Mac Sonoma/conflicted copies and app isn't loading
Not sure if the two are related (Sonoma and the conflicted copies) but I opened my dropbox this morning (after installing Sonoma last night) and all my shared folders had been replaced with conflicte...

Hi Jay, I called Apple today and they advised me to create a new user profile and download the app there. It worked, so we isolated it to my main user profile. But in the end, I simply signed out of my dropbox account from the preferences tab, and then re-started the app. It worked.
Hope this helps you and any others with a similar issue.
Thanks again.

Hey Carl8, thanks for sharing your experience and your fix!
And sorry to see you're having this issue, bcortier.
Can you clarify if restarting the Dropbox app worked for you or not?
Have you tried any other troubleshooting steps for this?

Hi, no, restarting the dropbox app didn't resolve the issue. At the moment, I didn't restart my agent, so there is no synchro
- bcortier2 years agoExplorer | Level 3
yes, I doesn't restart the app

I have exactly the same sync problem right after installing Sonoma on a Mac book pro. Conflicting copies of all folders, no files left in the original folders, and after uninstalling the Dropbox app it is impossible to get it to run again, it always crashes on launch.
I tried pretty much everything, restarting the mac, trying on the web app to fix the sync, nothing worked since now.
Waiting here for a solution.
I precise that the group with which I shared the folders and files don't see the new "conflicting copies" of any folder, but they also lose the files in the original folders.
Thanks to anyone who can help to fix the issue.

Thanks for all this info, jordangamet, and sorry to see you're having this issue.
I assume that closing and relaunching the Dropbox app doesn't help, right?
Can you please confirm the location of the Dropbox folder on this particular computer? Is it ~/Library/CloudStorage?

After Sanoma update on MacBook Air, every one of my shared folders created a conflicted copy, including folders shared with me. Unfortunately, some of the sub folders and files remained in the original folders/sub folders, and some of them were "moved" to the conflicted copy folder(s). The really bad news is the folder shared with me actually had some of it's content moved to my personal conflicted copy folder and is no longer part of the original folder. Thus, the organization that shared the folder with me no longer has access to the moved folders/files. I have thousands of files/folders that are either in the original location or the conflicted copy location, but neither location has everything. I don't want to manually move everything back from the conflicted copy to the original. How do I fix this??? PLEASE HELP!

Hi davidjeastman, have you tried the previous steps earlier in this thread to resolve this issue?
- davidjeastman2 years agoExplorer | Level 4
@Jay - Yes, but no luck. What’s really strange is that about two thirds of my files were moved from the original folder to the conflicted copy folder. I decided to manually move everything back to the original folders then delete the “CC” folders. Hopefully, it was a one-time glitch with the Sonoma update and won’t happen again.

I have the same error txt. I'm on Ventura 13.

I finally found a way to re install Dropbox app on my computer, using the advanced installation.
But nothing changed during that time on my files.
Here is the location of my dropbox folder. Nothing like Cloudstorage for my part.
Any solution yet ?
