I have Dropbox Plus - bought a new PC - My files in old PC were uploaded in Dropbox so I can download in new PC.

1. It says go to SETTINGS - SECURITY TAB - looked at devices connected - UNLINKED it

2. My old PC still has the files showing up on in my Dropbox folder

3. In other words it did not unsynched, unlinked or whatever it is from the old PC

please help and make the instructions easy to follow

also when i get on Dropbox website there is no longer the chat available

Hey @uhnicMaya, let's jump right into this!

If you unlinked the old PC, using the app in it then that's expected. You'd need to manually delete the content if you wish to remove it, since that doesn't happen automatically.

Unless of course, you specifically followed these steps and asked for the content to be removed after removing the device.

As for our chat, our team is aware of it and actively tries to rectify the situation.

If you need something else, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help every step of the way!

Not understanding the part:

"You'd need to delete the content if you wish to remove it, since that doesn't happen automatically."

Is this in my Dropbox folder on the old PC?

Hey @uhnicMaya!

Sorry, my bad. I thought you unlinked your device using the app itself on the old PC. In this case, it'd be expected that your Dropbox folder still has all of your files.

However, since you tried to remotely remove the device then I'd like to ask if you chose to Delete files from [account name] Dropbox the next time this computer comes online.

That should be the message you see after clicking the trash can icon, in order to remove the device.
