Just to confirm, when you click the globe icon on the Dropbox desktop application window, do the files on the site match those currently in the Dropbox folder in Finder?

No they don't. In the globe , there are dozens of files from years ago, and on the dropbox folder, there is only one folder with a few files in it. Why the difference?

Does the folder have any syncing icons on it to show that it is syncing normally?
Do you have any folders unchecked in the selective sync feature?

Which folder are you referring to? The one from the dropbox folder or the ones from the globe icon?

Hey James!
Jay is referring to the local Dropbox folder in Finder; do the files in it have any syncing icons?
- Dragonboy47122 years agoExplorer | Level 3
I don't know what a syncing icon looks like, but there are no icons near the one folder and the one .doc file that was in it. The path for that folder was --harddrive--library -- iCloud storage ---dropbox

The sync icons should look like these ones in Finder.
Could you attach a screenshot showing the Dropbox folder on your computer in order to understand what you're seeing?

Here it is

Okay, that isn't your Dropbox folder. This is probably a copy of an older Dropbox folder. Just above it in Finder in the Locations section, you can see the Dropbox folder with the Dropbox icon on it.
Please could you click that to confirm that the files are there, and that there are sync icons on the files.

Hi Jay,
Then I don't know what you mean by the LOCATIONS section. I don't see anything with the name "LOCATIONS".
I assumed it was in FINDER as you suggested. So when I clicked FINDER, that window came up that I sent you. And in the left side of that window
is the list of all the items, DESKTOP, DOWNLOADS, MACKINTOSH HARDRIVE, AND DROPBOX with a folder icon. So I assumed that was the LOCATIONS and that was the DROPBOX FOLDER since that is where you said it would be. If that screenshot I sent is not the LOCATIONS area, where is it? I've answered about 20 requests from you and HANNAH to look for this and that, and unfortunately its not getting anywhere, maybe because I have a MAC and you have PC's? Does the drobox staff have the ability to take control of my screen & find it for me?
Thanks
JIm

OK Jay, I apologize, I missed it. Delete my last e-mail. I have now seen in that window I sent you, the name LOCATIONS and in that was the dropbox folder with the dropbox icon. I stand corrected. Now I clicked on that dropbox icon , and in the window window and there are all the dropbox files from many years ago, when other people sent me them in dropbox.. But I don't know what 'sync' is or what a 'sync icon' looks like. So here is the screenshot of the files in dropbox. Do you see a sync icon anywhere?
