Dropbox won't open on my Mac

Dropbox won't open on my Mac

Dropbox for desktop won't work on my laptop, I have deleted the app and reinstalled, my Mac software is the latest and I've tried just about everything else.

When I click on the Dropbox icon it says 'Dropbox is not open anymore'. Dropbox appears in my toolbar briefly then disappears, even if I manage to open it in time it will still disappear again. Really odd, has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @mounsey92, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you let me know what Mac OS version you're running on your device?

Could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Hey Jay, I just tried that link and it didn't work. I've actually already used that link already with not uninstalling first and then after uninstalling. No luck. It still says 'Dropbox is not open anymore'.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Danny

Are you using a company-managed device, or is this your personal machine?

Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

It's my personal machine. I don't think its any of those other than possibly a router setting, are there any common settings that need amending and i can check?

Do you get any error message that pops up when you attempt to open the Dropbox desktop application? Could you attach a screenshot showing this, if there is?
