Dropbox folder not oppening with File explorer

Dropbox folder not oppening with File explorer

I am using Windows 10 Home and  I cannot access any local Dropbox files on my computer using File Explorer. I can access them via the DropBox online site and through the icon on the taskbar but not in File Explorer. I have uninstalled DropBox desktop, downloaded it again, and installed it, and still have problems. When I navigate through the DropBox folders on the PC, I can see the file, but If I click on it, I get the hourglass, which will not stop unless I forcibly close it with Task Manager.  Any response will be gratefully received - thanks

The problem is iCloud. Once iCloud is uninstalled all goes smooth again 😃

I don't have any error messages. I'm using Dropbox 186.4.6207 version and the current syncing status of your Dropbox app is "Actualizado"

Hi @Rocio_pg, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Do the files in the Dropbox folder have any sync icons on them?

Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,

Thank you very much for your message.

no, the files in the Dropbox folder don't have any sync icons on them. (Before they did, I remember icons changing colors from blue to green...)
I do not have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic that I'm aware of. I have even uninstalled the antivirus, just in case, but folders and files are still not opening...
Actually, I can move between folders in the left menu of File Explorer but if I click in the main window to open them (folder or files) they don't open...
I hope you can help me, please.

Could you check the bandwidth settings in the app to see if they are being restricted in any way?

hey Jay,
The bandwidth settings in the app were restricted in "la velocidad de subida", so now the icons are back but I still can not open the files and folders in File Explorer (and I reinitiated the laptop twice)

What is the current status of the Dropbox desktop application when you click on the icon?

Okay, this means that it is fully working properly. Can you explain what happens when you try to open a file in the Dropbox folder?

What happens if you quit the Dropbox desktop application completely and then try to open a file? What about when you copy a file from the Dropbox folder to another location and then open it?
