Dropbox can not open on MAC
when ever I try to open Dropbox on my MAC it says it cant open, list some error message that it wants me to send to dropbox support but they dont seem to exist. I can see some dropbox folders that were shared to me from else where but none of my own. I deleted the app and reinstalled but it made no difference. I have dropbox on an android tablet and can see the shared files and my own from the MAC.
Sorry I was looking at the apps on bottom of screen, in the top menu bar I did find a dropbox icon and was able to open it and reset syncing which had been paused.
- JayDropbox StaffHi skulduggery, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you attach a screenshot showing what you're experiencing on your device? If there is an error log in a blue link, opening that link and pasting the text would also help.
What OS are you currently running on your device?
This will help me to assist further!- skulduggeryHelpful | Level 6
MacOS Monterey 12.0.1 - things have changed but I am still confused. I am no longer getting an error. When i click on the Dropbox app it opens up a Finder window highlighting a Dropbox folder that has been shared with me. In my Bookmarks there is a folder with links to that same Dropbox folder plus another Dropbox folder that has been shared with me. When I open either one of those folders I see all the Dropbox files that have been shared with me plus my own private dropbox files. But if use Finder only the one shared folder shows up. hope this makes sense to you.
- MeganDropbox StaffThat is awesome news GeraldAH!
Also, skulduggery, could you kindly send us some screenshots so we can have a better, clearer visual on our end?
Thank you!

Can you try the steps shown here?
Give me a heads up on the results, thanks!

nothing changed, when I try to start the Dropbox App all it does is open my MAC OS finder app and shows one of the dropbox folders that has been shared with me but not the second folder that has been shared with me and not my own dropbox folders, all of these folders show up on my androids tablet and phone when I start up the dropbox app.
- WalterDropbox StaffHey skulduggery - sorry to hear you're still having issues with this.
Can you please try an advanced reinstall and let us know if you're still getting the same error when trying to launch the desktop app on your computer?- GeraldAHExplorer | Level 3
Thank you, Walter, for your reply to skulduggery. I performed the advanced reinstall as you recommended. The Dropbox app now works perfectly on my MBP with Monterey OS 12.1 ! Much appreciated.
