Dropbox app doesn't "register" on new iMac

Dropbox app doesn't "register" on new iMac

I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but my searches thus far have been useless. I just (May 2023) set up a new (2021) iMac M1. I have installed the Dropbox app on it like four times, and nothing happens. No icon in the menu bar, no prompt to sync files, still says that I'm in "finder" after I open it manually from Applications, nothing. I really like the convenience of the app accessible in the menu bar and would rather not have to use my browser. Why isn't Dropbox working? (New computer has Ventura 13.1.) Thanks if anyone can help me!

Hey @EcruBlack, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please try the offline installer from this page and let me know how it goes?

If you're running an antivirus or firewall on your machine, you could try temporarily disabling them too.

In any case, please keep me posted.

Yes! Oddly, after I double-clicked the icon and got the message that it was an app from the internet, and then clicked "open" on that, nothing happened. At least not immediately. It was maybe a minute or two before the setup screen popped up. But it's there now, and all is well. Thank you so much!!!!
