Apple Silicon (M1) Desktop Sync Compatibility
Please can you upgrade the Dropbox app so that it works natively on Apple Silicon Macs (M1) without Rosetta.
Rosetta is not an option as it annihilates the battery.

Native Apple silicon support is now fully available. All users with Apple silicon devices will receive the native version of Dropbox automatically. If you would like to update your device manually, you can do so by clicking on the latest Stable Build and downloading the Offline Installer (Apple Silicon) file. jekratz My husbands has Macbook Pro M1-processor. The latest version of Dropbox is from 17 february 2022 version: V142.4.4197 and the laptop is telling this is the stable version: Intel. The activity monitor and the systeem (about Mac, system overview, apps) are telling me it is Intel. I know your are processing the new version for Apple Silicon M1 version. Now I am thinking: the latest update is still an Intel version. Is it possible when I delete the Dropbox app and then install the Dropbox app again, that I get the Apple Silicon version?
snmorbe Dropbox is doing an incremental rollout for the stable build of the Apple Silicon version of the classic app; there is no telling exactly when you'll get it, but they announced the rollout a couple weeks ago, so your number should come up soon. My advice though: unless you are experiencing serious problems with the Intel version (high CPU or RAM usage) just let the update happen when it happens; you probably won't see much change in performance so it's just not worth wasting time and energy on.

- I was, but it looks like it didn’t meet the standards of Community scolds like Emmet. Apparently we’re not supposed to mention that Dropbox’s initial Apple Silicon beta was crap. I should think they would take some pride in the fact that they’ve been able to fix it pretty quickly.
jlaguna and Emmet and jekratz Our problem is solved. We got the update this morning: 3 March 2022. So now we also have native apple silicon. I can see this in the system overview (click on about Apple, system overview, apps) and I can see this in de Activity Monitor. It is also another version number, no longer 142.4.4197. So there was an update this morning and everything is working fine.

jlaguna thanks a lot for your answer. Helpful for me, because I get stress of it. Because it looks like we got an update 142.4.4197 but we get automatically the intel version and not the universal version.

Question 1:
I can read there is an universal version. I thinks this is the native Apple Silicion / M1 version, but perhaps I am wrong. Question: is this the universal without Rosetta version I have to get for our M1 Macbook Pro?
Question 2:
But this number also have an intel version. So, why did we automatically get the 142.4.4197 version of Intel on our M1 lapotp? Why did we not get the M1 version, I think the universal version?
Question 3:
Did they made a mistake and not recognize we have a M1 laptop? Should we do something like delete the app and reinstall the app (and how can I do this: just throw the app away and download again: but how do I get the right version, will I do this with the link above in this post)?

We got two weeks ago the update 142.4.4197, but we got the intel version. Is it possible the recognize that we have a M1 Macbook, but did not give us the universal Apple M1 version. And we have to wait for another update with another version number?
The Dropbox app is working fine, but I am only worried why Dropbox is not recognize that we have M1 MacBook Pro and did not give the universal version, if this is the M1 version without Rosetta. Did something went wrong or is everything oké this way for this moment?Thanks for the help and answers.
It seems I have the native version, but I still see one Intel process. Why would this be?
Michael C.143 Perhaps there were vestiges of the Intel version remained when you were updated? I would use something like App Cleaner and Uninstaller to do a complete uninstallation and then reinstall the latest (non-beta) version via the Dropbox website.
