Dropbox is the last 32-bit app on my Mac. OS X has to load 32-bit system frameworks into memory in addition to the 64-bit versions already loaded in order to run Dropbox. (https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Darwin/Conceptual/64bitPorting/indications/indications.html) Therefore, Dropbox is consuming more memory than necessary. It's alarming that we're halfway through 2015 and a utility as widely used as Dropbox is still in the age of 32-bit only. The vast majority of Dropbox users have no clue what 64-bit means and why it would provide an improvement. Maybe it's time a utility as ubiquitous as Dropbox should bring their app to 2011 for no other reason than to provide the best. I have my fingers crossed that we'll finally have a 64-bit version by 2020.
