Can we add comments to folders for collaborating purposes?
Would it be possible to comment on Folders as well as Files from the web interface? Example - I prepare 100 files for my colleague, put them in a Folder on dropbox, then @mention her with a comment like "Here are the files we discussed." Or is there another way to do it?

There is no such feature for folders; only files.

Rich,
This is why I posted it in "Share an idea". This is my idea - make it possible to comment on folders.
Thanks,
Pete

Have you found any other solution to be able to write comments on folder?

I have seen support comments in similar discussions that suggest one could put a word file at the top of directory and utilize conversation that way. With that said, I would still like to be able to comment on the folder just like the original poster of this thread (Peter H.87) wanted to do back in 2017.
I thought to poke this beast since it has the perfect Topic Name and Description that I am currently looking for a solution to.

I like this idea and support it too!

This should be a necessity. I've been hitting my head on the wall over this for a few years. Hello, Dropbox?

Please Dropbox-- add the ability to comment on folders in the workspace-- not just files-- folder commenting is essential to making the workspace feature functional for me & seemingly many other users as well. I love Dropbox otherwise but this is very frustrating.

Hi All and welcome to the Community too CatZarel!
Thanks for giving me the chance to update the status of this feature request; I appreciate it.
I'm happy to let you know that this is now possible with the Dropbox Spaces feature we introduced earlier this year.
For context, as the linked Help Center article mentions, adding additional features to any (shared or not) folder turns it into a Dropbox Space. These features make it easy to organize your content and stay on top of things.
Features of a Space include:
- A text description
- Pinned files and folders
- Links
- Lists and to-dos
- @mentions to other Dropbox users
- Comments
- File activity
You can give people can-edit or view-only access to a Space the same way you would a folder. Only people with can-edit access to a Space can edit its features.
When you turn a folder into a Space, it’s shared with the same people it was shared with before, with the same can-edit and view-only permissions.
Spaces can be viewed on dropbox.com, the Dropbox desktop app, and the Dropbox mobile app in the same places you can view folders.
Give this a go when you get the chance and let us know how you find it CatZarel!
