Restricting dropbox to permitted (company) devices
I have dropbox business for our office and am trying to limit access/installation to company-issued devices. We don't want our employees to install and sync company dropbox account onto their own personal devices due to security reasons. Quite simply, company files are one lost and unsecured computer / laptop away from being lost to the real world. Is there a way to do this?

Hi PeteX, thanks for messaging the Community.
On Dropbox teams, you should have the option for device approvals within the admin console, which would do what you're asking.

The "device approval" section only dictates how many (quantity) of devices that one dropbox account can connect to. It doesn't let me specify what devices.
It can only indirectly address the issue, because even if i specify ONE device, the employee can basically uninstall/disconnect dropbox from the work-issued computer, and then re-install/link onto another device.

Company issued computer will most definitely have encryption/password policies. Even if i can't brick the device remotely, it probably wont be able to login
Personal devices not so much. Imagine a laptop without encryption/password lock getting stolen and that computer has company data synched to it
