Hi Milo C.1, welcome to our Community!
Would you mind clarifying the exact OS you're using, along with the version of our desktop app that you have installed?
I'd also love to be able to have a visual of this, so if you have any screenshots, feel free to send them over.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Sorry for the delay. So it turns out I am running Dropbox Beta v212.2.2470, on Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1. I was able to take a video grab but I don't see how to upload that (340KB). And since I'm running a beta, you might not be interested in my problem.

Hi Milo C.1, we'd definitely be happy to look into this.
However, I don't think you can upload a screencast here. Do you think you can try sending a couple of screenshots?
If not, then we can switch over to email, in order for you to send me the video there.

Considering that this is a dynamic problem, I think it would be easier to see the behavior with a short video, so email would be more better. But if you prefer images, I’d appreciate help uploading them… I can’t figure out how to do that on your web site.
