Hello everyone!
You will want to use the Dropbox for Gmail extension from the Google Workspace Marketplace: https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/dropbox_for_gmail/33761876029
This will put a blue Dropbox icon in your Gmail to use instead of the gray one you have been using.
The gray Dropbox icon should disappear, but in case it doesn't, disconnect 'Dropbox for Gmail' from the Dropbox Connected Apps page.

The workspace extension worked for me as well. Thanks! It was driving me NUTS! A good enough workaround until the grey extension is fixed.

BUMP we need a status update on this from the development team.
- Lusil4 years agoDropbox StaffHey Smokey Bluntson, if you're getting the same error message, could you make sure that your browser's up to date?

This response is a little insulting. This is the extension that doesn't work!
I never had a grey icon? Mine has always been blue.
Please advise
thanks

Grey one is for 'normal' users downloading what i'm assuming is the consumer version of Dropbox from the Chrome Web Store.
The link above is a Google Workplace Marketplace - sounds like a different tier. I've uninstalled the 'consumer' version, and added the Marketplace one. It works for me.
The blue Dropbox icon is closer to the right side of the emails or on the right bar in my browser for my Gmail atm.

Ohh I see now. The blue one has always worked for me and still does. It is way more cumbersome than the grey one though! You have to navigate through all the folders to get where you want for EACH file. Can't search for folders or files and no "recent" list, etc. Overall, the grey one has a lot more functionality...if it would work!
I have been (and still am) a HUGE dropbox fan! Really wish someone could figure out why the grey one doesn't want to connect.
Thanks

I have GSuite but we don't have Gmail enabled and only use G Suite for Google Apps. I'm not able to connect to dropbox. I have confirmed the same email address I used to login to Dropbox is the same I use for G Suite. When I click login it logs in temporarily and then out. I don't see a blue or gray icon and the blue icon doesn't seem worth it since I don't have Gmail.
