- 7 years agoHey Steph! Is the Dropbox folder appearing in the Files app on your device? I’m assuming that you have installed our mobile app? What version of iOS are you running? Are you able to export files from your Dropbox app into the mail app? Is this the iOS Mail app, or the official Gmail app? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jay,
yes, I have the Dropbox app installed. In the email, when I want to add a file stored in Dropbox as an attachment, the Dropbox opens and shows all the folders and files. However, when I choose a file by touching it, it doesn’t get attached in the email. The iOS version being used by me is 12.0.1.
Thanks for your time.

I have the new iPad Pro and experienced the same problem mentioned above. I solved as follows:
In mail, create new message, click attachment, in the “Browse Locations” window that pops up to the left, in the top right corner, click edit. Dropbox shows as an option to select in the Browse Location folder. It was turned off. When I selected “on”, my Dropbox folders loaded and became available to attach to my email.
- Jburns5 years agoHelpful | Level 5Had this same problem and was getting the dreaded Content Unavailable Try Again error. Assuming that Dropbox is activated in the iOS Files app, I opened Dropbox app, clicked on the Account icon at screen lower right, and signed out of Dropbox. Waited about 15 seconds and signed back in. Problem solved. I was able to once again attach files to an iOS email from Dropbox.

Hi rangsridhar, annettecam, are you both using the official Gmail app on iOS, or the default iOS Mail app?

- MrKJ6 years agoCollaborator | Level 8Hello, I am using the default iOS mail app and I do have the Dropbox mobile app installed. I can only attach Dropbox files when mailing from my iPad mini 4, but Dropbox files are not given as an option when using my iPhone X. All with full updates. I don’t know how to fix this.
- Daphne6 years agoDropbox StaffHey there MrKJ, sorry for the tardy reply here!If you are still having this issue, can you please go to your Files app on your iPhone X and navigate to the top level where you see “Locations”. From this page, please tap “Edit” in the top right of the screen and ensure that your Dropbox account is enabled as a location.Let me know how it goes - Cheers!
