Store Dropbox folder on multiple local hard drives

There was a suggestion thread going back years asking for a simple, obvious feature that should have been added to dropbox as soon as it was suggested, namely the ability to back up more than one hard drive on the same computer. Two weeks ago Walter closed the thread because it had reached the end of the suggest an idea process (or words to that effect). Since the problem appears not to have been fixed, despite numerous people asking for it, this does not seem to have been an appropriate response. So, I'm making the same suggestion. I guess we just have to keep asking and asking until something gets done?

Restating the issue: like millions of other people, I have a computer with two hard drives. I have data that needs backing up on both drives. Dropbox does not seem to make this possible. Why not??? When will this be fixed?

Hey Ed_kirk, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this.

Can you please let us know if the Dropbox Backup feature is close to what you had in mind?

I'm only asking since this feature will allow you to backup both your computer's OS folders like Desktop, Downloads and Documents and any supported external drive you'll be plugging into your computer.

    Thanks!

      Hi Walter
Thanks for responding. Dropbox backup is the feature I would like to use, and it works for my C drive, where I have the app installed. I see it will also work for an external hard drive, but for some reason it does not recognise the other (internal) hard drive on the computer (in this case allocated as the D drive). I guess I could attach an external hard drive and make a habit of copying everything from 😧 to that, but it is a clunky solution and not automatic. Based on the previous thread that was closed, people have been asking for this issue to be fixed since 2014 (!) ....it really doesn't seem like it should be a difficult ask, and lots of people have computers with more than one hard drive, so it isn't a niche issue.
Thanks for looking into this, and please let me know if the above isn't clear.

Thanks very much Megan, I appreciate this!

...I see that in my previous post I had referred to my D drive as D colon and it was rendered as an emoji. That was unintentional, but at least the emoji seems more or less appropriate.
      Thanks again
