Hi oreiarch, thanks for the image. I can see that you have over 300,000 files on your account. This would affect the performance of the Dropbox desktop application, and could result in the behavior you're currently experiencing.

Hey oreiarch - sorry to jump in here, but I wanted to ask if you notice any improvements if you selectively un-sync some folders from your computer to lessen the app's load.
Could you give it a go and let us know how it goes?

Dear support, i tried with another pc with a big archive sync, like attached image, and no problem in dropbox folder.
The difference are:
- windows 10 instead of windows 11
- in file explorer, in this pc (win 10) i don't see the STATUS column for sync dropbox file.
in other folders, in both of my two pc (work and notebook), i don't have any kind of problem about folder refreshing.
When a file is in other folder, automatically see without refresh.
Thanks a lot

Hi oreiarch, hope it’s OK to jump in.
From what I can see on your latest screenshot, the number of files within your local Dropbox folder is a bit more than 100k, while on the other device it’s more than 400k.
Can you please try our selective sync suggestion on your other computer? If this doesn’t help either, we’ll investigate further.

Hi, the point is that if i remove the sync of some folder to decrease the number of file that are synch in my device, after that i have to spend many hours to get them back (cause of normal adsl connection).
I find a things that could be interested for you to investigate..
If i save a file (like a text file) in a folder in dropbox root (like dropbox\temp\file.txt) i can't see it until refresh folder, and the icon status file in detail view is GREEN with "V" white..
If i save the same file DIRECTLY IN THE ROOT OF DROPBOX FOLDER (like dropbox\file.txt), I SEE immediately the file, without refresh folder, but the icon status in detail view is with the TWO BLUE CIRCOLAR ARROW, until i refresh the folder, after that, the icon status in detail view is a WHITE CIRCLE, with "V" and EDGE CIRLE in GREEN COLOR.
Like i see in the first post.. the problem about the refreshing dropbox folder, is after that this "function" of status of file was implemented.
I tried to remove one folder, my file decrease to 300k instead of more than 400k.. nothing change..
i will try to get another pc, with windows 11, and install dropbox and synch only one folder to see if something change.. but i think that the problem is the newest feature about the status that i see in the latest upgrade.
Another test, it's about install an older version and set dropbox to not update to verify that the problem isn't the largest number of file (that i always had.. 'cause 400k of file are the same from years..)
Thank'you
