How to copy Dropbox folder to a new PC locally?

I'm adding a 2nd Windows 10 PC and want to create the same Dropbox folder structure on the new PC - hoping I can connect the 2 PC together thus  eliminating having to download 1TB to the new PC.

Thx foe any help.

  • Hi JB M.2, happy 2024, wishing you all the best!

The ideal scenario would be to allow everything to sync from the website locally, during a new installation.

However, another alternative that you can follow is to use an external drive in order to copy your Dropbox folder from device 1 to device 2.

Then during the brand-new installation process, you should be able to see the "advanced settings" while setting up your desktop app. If you click there, you should be able to choose the path of your Dropbox folder.

You should then choose the path of the existing copy of your Dropbox folder, and allow for the content to re-index and sync any changes.

If you have any questions, I'm always here, don't hesitate to let me know!
