How can I sync my Mac to an external drive?
Hi,
I have been a Dropbox subscriber for over 10 years.
Recently Drops box has forced me to Sync to the internal SSD of my laptop. I have insufficient space on my internal SSD and need to sync to an external drive.
I use Lightroom and making files offline is not a solution for me.
How can I revert Dropbox to sync to an external drive, currently Dropbox tells me this version of macOS requires folders to be stored in ../Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox.
My account is up for yearly renewal next week. If I can solve this then sad to say I will be leaving you...
Creative Cloud Lightroom, Google Drive and OneDrive do not have such an arbitrary limitation, I have tested them.
Hope there is a solution other than abandon ship.

I am willing go as far as uninstall/reinstall dropbox or reinstall MacOS if a fresh install of Dropbox will give me the option to select a dropbox folder manually during install and dropbox tells me that this will be supported going forward. I notice that LAN sync no longer works when using cloud storage which is an extremely useful feature for the number of files I have.
