Error message on PDF download

Help!  I am using DropBox (for downloadable pdf's) with WooCommerce on my website. I'm having an issue today- some people are able to download my product without issue and others are getting an error message 😭 I can't figure out the problem. This product was featured as part of a feature on another website and I'm so embarrassed and frustrated.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to a fix ? THANKS !

This is the error message some people are getting-
"Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open 'Spring%20Garden-3.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Thanks for the useful link FieldsofDaisies!

I was able to preview the shared link with no problem on my browser (I'm using the latest stable version of Chrome) - this makes me think that the problem's root cause stems from something else - not something that we have control over. Perhaps the devices or browsers they're using our outdated? Or even the 3rd party app used to preview these file-type(s)?

As you mentioned Adobe in the error message, can you confirm if they're running the most recent version of their Adobe Acrobat Reader? Have you tried getting in contact with Adobe directly maybe?

On a totally side-note, I loved your work Chenoah - beautiful, creative and very educational!

Let me know of any updates please!

Hey there FieldsofDaisies  - sorry to hear that!

Could you first let me know how you linked your PDF file to your website and how are these people downloading the file in question and on what devices?

While you're at it, can you aslo forward me a screenshot of the exact error message they get so that I can investigate further?

On a side note, does this happen on an incognito window and/or other browsers too?

Any additional information will be much appreciated!

Thank you so much for your help !

I have the shared link from DropBox entered into my WooCommerce (on WordPress) for the PDF product in my store.  I have other products all done the same that are working normally.
Today one of my products was featured on another site with a link directly to my bookstore.  People are most likely clicking on that link to my store, and then downloading the product directly from my site (from both mobile devices and laptops).   I can't even get it to work on my own computer.
If I put the copied link into the browser it opens fine.
It was previously working but isn't anymore.

      This is the error message-

"Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open 'Spring%20Garden-3.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

And yep.  It's happening icognito, on Safari, and on Chrome too.  :(

Thanks for the additional information Chenoah - most appreciated!

As I'm still unsure about where the problem lies, could you forward me the problematic shared link(s) to have a look on my end?

        Thanks!
