Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've...

I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.
Let me know how it goes!

The time is the same everywhere, but it's still a mistak

Hi tale88, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with this!
Just to confirm, are you getting this error from the desktop app when it's trying to connect?
If so, please check out this article for some more info on the error.
Let me know how it goes!

Yes I can confirm it is just the windows 10 desktop app v111.4.472 thats broken. I can still log into website, otherwise I couldn't post here, or?
The mentioned article doesn't help a bit. Firewall, proxy, system time all has been checked twice and it's fine.

Hola desde hace unos días es imposible acceder al programa de windows de dropbox, ha sido actualizado pero siempre da el mismo error y la hora y configuración es la correcta.

I uninstalled the last version of dropbox and installed the previous one. Everything works fine now. So it seems to be a problem of the new version.

Se puede acceder al modo web correctamente, pero no a la aplicación. Debido a la falta de asistencia ¿existe otra aplicación de nube donde configurar la cuenta de dropbox?

This is happening to me as well. System clock is correct, yet DropBox is using a SSL time sync cannot connect message. This is the first time this has happened to me in many years of DropBox usage.

I'm having this same issue as well - never had it before. System clock is fine, I checked proxy / firewall suggestions as per the forum all are fine. Windows / Dropbox all latest versions.

Down loaded beta version and problem solved. That took 8 hours to figure out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here unfortunately, with the desktop app.
System clock is correct, I disabled my firewall and antivirus, updated my OS to the latest W10 update, uninstalled and installed again Dropbox... but still nothing.
It says "Unable to establish a secure connection".
Dropbox website works correctly instead.
How can we solve that?

I too have this problem - for the first time in 12 years of use.
Since Saturday Dec. 5th, I get the error immediately from the PC desktop app when it's trying to connect. I too have tried most everything with no luck. I can access Dropbox online BUT ALSO ON THE OTHER 2 DEVICES (Notebooks) I HAVE IT ON! There, no problems!
Is my PC perhaps the 'parent' device? But then why no difficulties on other devices?
What to do? And don't say to chat as it's useless...you can't explain anything to a computer!
BTW I only have 'basic' Dropbox. Is upgrading nedded to resolve?
Thanks

¿Alguna novedad?

update: It works with the previous version, but dropbox has automatically a function which updates dropbox. So after a few minutes it updated the app to the new version and I get the same error again. I am trying to find a solution to stop dropbox from installing automatically the new version.

Same here,
I don't really know since when it's like this, but I noticed this a couple of hours ago. On two laptops with win10 and dropbox version 111.4.472.
I've already tried all the solutions (time sync, change proxy, disable antivirus) but nothing has helped
- Martin D.224 years agoHelpful | Level 6
The original poster already said that solution did not work

Updated to 111.4.472 ..initially blue tick but straight away gone back to red x on drop box icon .
