User with shared edit access unable to upload due to error message referring to 2 GB limit

I have a 2 TB account, of which I'm currently using 4%.  My son has edit access to one of my folders, which he's been using for some years, but he's now being told that he's over some 2 GB limit and ...

    Hi gerry_51 

     

    Your account quota has no benefit / perk to your son. So you have a 2TB account, he does not. That means that all of the files you have in the share use his quota. Now that his account is full syncing stops. He either needs to delete files in that share (you could move them to a diff folder if he no longer needs access), or, he needs to get more space.
