Out of space even after deleting files
I have deleted so many files and folders and my storage space has not changed. In searching I've noticed this issue stems back about 8 years but there seems to be so much confusion around it. Can som...

I had to delete backups and then when I delete other files logout and back in, then it shows the freed space. Thank you!

When I look at the backups folder it is empty. I've never used backups and I deleted the temporarily deleted files (permanently deleted) this morning as well.

Can you post a screenshot of www.dropbox.com/home and www.dropbox.com/account/plan ?
Note that deleted files use no quota, so, permanent deletion will have changed nothing.

After researching, it seems that deleting or permanently deleting or even emptying your recycle bin don't free up space on Dropbox!!! WHAT is the point of this? I think they are trying to push users into buying to upgrade. This is ridiculous. What other alternatives that people have used are better? I've heard Box.om and Sync.com, but would like to ask those who have actually used these. Thank you.

That is not true. Deleting files will free up space in your account, though it might take a little bit before your space usage is updated. You don't need to permanently delete files. Simply deleting files is enough to free up space.
