"Save hard drive space automatically" - time scale?

Quick question - if I enable the new (to me) option "Save hard drive space automatically", how long would an untouched file remain before DB makes it online only?

The docs say "in a few months" but I am curious to know how long actually.

  • Hi Peter H.87, thanks for posting today!

Currently, we don’t have an exact number for how long it will take for the system to automatically mark a file as online-only.

I’m sorry I can't be more helpful on this matter.

      Jay,

That wasn't the kind of answer I expected but, it is an answer.

      Thanks,

      Peter

Hi ap_in_MKE; welcome to our Community!

I'm sorry to jump in here, but as Jay mentioned, we don't have a concrete number to share at this time as the criteria for moving a file/folder to “Online Only” will depend on various factors such as the time since they were last modified, previewed or shared to name some examples.

I know it's not much, but I hope this helps Andy.

Please let us know if you have any follow up questions.

      Jay,

If you don't have an exact number, an approximate number would still be helpful, thanks.
