#.url There was an error uploading a file
Hi, what is this error #.url about? I get it only in Firefox, in Chrome I don't see any error but I can't rename a very important folder that has many files.

That looks like you are trying to upload a shortcut to the folder and not the actual folder.

Hi Mark, I have read in the documentation that Dropbox accepts shortcut/URL link files, such as .lnk and .url. Can you confirm this is the case and where I can find information about non-permitted files?
The issue with this message is that it is not very informative. I don't have a #.url file, hence I can't pinpoint what is causing this issue. Thanks.

Dropbox would accept .lnk or URL files BUT that would be it - it would only upload that file and not the thing it was pointing to.
Have you searched file *.url files?
Where is it you are going to upload this file? How are you doing it?

I am just dropping files in my laptop Dropbox folders. The desktop app takes care of the sync. For the .lnk files, I understand that they are not going to work anymore. However, the .url files should open external websites without problems.
The issue is that I can't debug what is the problem and/or which file is causing it with the very scarce information displayed in the error message shown in the image of my first post.

Hi Namaka, hope you’re doing well.
You mentioned in the beginning that this error only persists on your Firefox browser.
Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache, checking for updates, and making sure additional plugins have been disabled? Does that make any difference at all?
