I can see my files in Finder, but not on the Dropbox website

We use Dropbox for our 400+ event a year ukulele club. Since the recent upgrade I can see my folders and files on my Mac Finder, and I can open them. However, I can no longer Share them from Finder or copy a shareable link. When I log on to Dropbox.com, NO folders or files show. Dropbox is basically unusable in the new configuration. Help! Please and thanks!

  • Hey tcuker, thanks for the screenshot!

Is it possible that you have a different Dropbox account linked on your desktop app?

You should be able to see the linked account if you visit the app's preferences under Account tab.

And when you go online you can see your account's settings here

That isnt a new configuration - Dropbox isnt working on your device.

My guess here is that you dont have Dropbox installed or running. Have you checked? What is it saying if you mouse over its icon on the status bar?

Mark, there is no Status Bar at the bottom of my Safari browser window when I have Dropbox open and I am logged in. Do you mean the Dock at the bottom of a Mac screen? Here is what I see when I right click on the Dropbox icon on the Dock.

Here is what I see when I open Dropbox and am logged in. Simply put, I see nothing. No files -- No Folders.

Here is what I see when I open Dropbox in my Apple Mac Finder.

Sorry to hear about this, tcuker.

Can you actually check your menu bar at the top of your screen, by the WiFi icon?

If the app is running, you should have a small Dropbox icon there; hover over it and let us know what you see.
